Northern and Western India

Its captivating architectural beauty lingers in the heart and mind of every sightseer. The Agra Fort is yet another example of the stunning architectural excellence of the prestigious Mughal Empire.
  • Jammu & Kashmir- once known as the paradise on earth, still holds the magic that bedazzles every nature lover. The serene lakes, the beautiful gardens and landscapes, and the pleasant climate complete the ethereal beauty of the land. Gulmarg, true to its name, is a popular tourist destination with its vibrant flowering gardens and lush green fields. Situated on the banks of river Jhelum, Srinagar is home to beautiful lakes like Dal, Nagin and Anchar. Boat rides in colorful house-boats, popularly known as Shikaras in Kashmir, is a much loved tourist sport.
  • Leh- Leh, the capital of Ladakh, is unmissable spot for trek lovers. Leh is famous for its Gompas or Buddhist monasteries and believers tread all the way through the rugged terrain to the monasteries.


Western India

Western India is known for the royal destinations of Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer etc. With its majestic palaces, forts and the beautiful art and culture, Rajasthan is one of the most visited states of India. It is one of the most culturally rich places found in India showcasing the nation at its colorful best.
The Pink City, Jaipur is known for its glorious monuments including the magnificent hill top Amer Fort, the Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace) and the Jantar Mantar(Observatory).

  • The imperial city of Jodhpur is an impressive display of colorful handicrafts. The tie-and-dye fabric, the Jodhpuri embroidered jutis and the beautiful decorative items never miss the eyes of the souvenir lovers. The Mehrangarh Fort is a massive structure sheltering some splendid palaces.
  • Udaipur, the ‘Jewel of Mewar’ is known for its marvelous palaces, temples, gardens and lakes such as Lake Pichola.

The mention of Western India would certainly remain incomplete without Gujarat. Although, Gujarat does not commonly feature on the most-sought-after tourist destinations’ list, it has some notable tourist attractions such as the Sabarmati Ashram, the Gir National Park and the Great Rann of Kutch White Salt Desert.

Central India-The Central India includes some important tourist destinations such as Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh etc. The temple at Tirupati, the Charminar at Hyderabad, the Golconda Fort and many others royal tombs make Andhra Pradesh a much loved tourist attraction. Madhya Pradesh with its compelling history and ancient cities attracts tourists in large numbers. The temples and sculptures at Khajuraho are the one of the most notable tourist destinations of India.

Eastern and North-Eastern India-Eastern India- It comprises the states of Bihar, West Bengal and Orissa. Bihar is famous for the famous Buddhist centre of Bodh Gaya. The Mahabodhi Temple and the ancient seats of learning at Rajgir and Nalanda are immensely popular among tourists.
The state of West Bengal is famous for its vibrant culture, art forms and traditional cuisine. West Bengal is the home of some of the greatest writers, poets and intellectuals of all times.
Orissa is one of the less frequented states of India but its beautiful temples, the varied cultures and tribes make it an important part of India’s tourist map.


Northern India-- The ‘seven sisters’ which are the seven states of the Eastern India: Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh provide a window to the natural beauty. Arunachal Pradesh with its mountains, the lush green valleys and tea gardens of Assam and Manipur dotted with lakes and waterfalls make Eastern India truly mesmerizing.


Southern India-South India generally refers to the states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. South India is culturally very rich and the people there continue to hold onto their customs and traditional practices. The people are simple yet extraordinarily rich in terms of culture and traditions.
Tamil Nadu is known for its ancient Dravidian architecture and beautifully carved temples. It is famous for its dance forms such as Bharata Natyam, Kavadi, Karagattam etc. The world’s first granite temple, The Brihadeswara temple, is located at Tanjavur in Tamil Nadu.
Kerala-the God’s own country, is known for its surreal beauty and serenity. The backwaters and the long stretches of the beaches are truly captivating. The Kovalam beach of Kerala is very renowned. Kerala has become one of the most popular destinations with a unique mix of the conventional as well as modern recreational activities. The ayurvedic spas and resorts in the midst of natural locales offer unmatched calmness and luxury at the same time.
Karnataka has come a long way owing to the development of the IT capital, Bangalore, of the country. Karnataka is not only famous for its modernization but also for the historic cities of Mysore, Bijapur, Bidar,Aihole, Hassan, Badami etc. Bandipur and Nagarhole are famous wildlife sanctuaries that offer eco-tourism and Coorg best known for coffee plantation.
